FM Logistic Vietnam and Smartlog deploy the warehouse of the future

Logistics provider FM Logistic and Smartlog, a company specialized in information technology solutions for logistics operations, joined forces to deploy a project of warehouse digitalization for a major international FMCG client in Vietnam.

The client, an American multinational confectionery and snack food company, was in need of a flexible and robust supply chain to respond to regular changes in output and complexities brought by the Covid-19 epidemic around warehouse management processes, regulations on safe distancing, travel time and disease prevention in a warehouse.

To solve an already complex supply chain process with specific requirements on shelf life and freshness management, FM Logistic and SmartLog enabled technology solutions through the deployment of a software-as-a-service (SaaS) to simplify procedures and maximize operations performance. The project implementation allowed the optimization of the warehouse management including paperless and RF Devices driven operations, the real-time monitoring and tracing of the entire warehouse inventory as well as all inbound and outbound transactions and an improved customer service by strictly following shelf-life management rules to ensure the right freshness of products to each of the client’s customers.

Four weeks after the technological deployment, FM operations leaders together with the client’s team were able to quickly take decisions and improve the warehouse management efficiency and inventory accuracy. This successful implementation offers new avenues to further design a smarter, data-driven economical and efficient supply chain.
